I am experimenting with lots of different textures and forms. This traditional shaped bowl shows a chattering technique that I learned from Robby Wood. Another porcelain bowl of a  traditional form with carved details.   -Renee

Bowl No.13: Spalted Maple
This wood sat in a pile after it was cut down.  Fungus attacked it, creating the streaks of color throughout.  It turns like thick oatmeal, and smells like a wet dog.  I think it looks nice in the end, though.

Welcome to 100 Bowls!  What, you ask, is “100 Bowls?”  In a nutshell, 100 Bowls is a challenge concocted by Houston artists Renee LeBlanc and Clark Kellogg.  The idea is for each artist to produce one hundred bowls over the course of one hundred days.  The completed bowls will then be donated to Empty Bowls Houston, an annual event supporting the Houston Food Bank.
